Our School Participated in the Second National Smart Agriculture Virtual Simulation Innovation Design Competition in 2021

On November 6, the “Second National Smart Agriculture Virtual Simulation Innovation Design Competition in 2021” sponsored by China Modern Agricultural Vocational Education Group was held as scheduled. A total of 2,193 students from 35 agricultural colleges in China participated in the competition, and 105 students of Grade 2020 majoring in the modern agricultural technology from our school participated in the competition.

The purpose of this competition is to implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions on vocational education, deepen the integration of industry and education, school-enterprise cooperation, promote the reform of education methods, enhance the adaptability of vocational education, and train more high-quality technical talents. The college attached great importance to this occupational skill level examination. The Vice President Zhang Xianqi, Director of the Office of Academic Affairs Zhu Weijun, Dean of the School of Agricultural Engineering Wang Lihe, and Vice Dean Liu Songtao went to the competition site to guide the work.

According to the needs of epidemic prevention and control, the School of Agricultural Engineering has formulated a scientific prevention and control plan and made careful arrangements for registration, training and competition. After this semester began, we started the preliminary publicity and consultation for this competition. As of November 3, 105 out of the total of 108 students of Modern Agricultural Technology major in Grade 2020 volunteered to participate in this skill competition. Training and competition were carried out based on the virtual simulation experiment platform of smart agriculture, focusing on improving contestants’ ability to apply technologies such as the Internet of Things, 5G, cloud computing, big data and artificial intelligence to smart agriculture production practice.

Through this competition, students' ability to design and implement smart agriculture virtual simulation projects, logical analysis and strategy design of modern agricultural technology were strengthened; students' engineering practice quality was cultivated; students' innovation ability, practical ability and sense of social service were strengthened.
